Armor of Diomedes

In Greek mythology, Diomedes is one of the wisest and most powerful warriors to partake in the Trojan War. It was said that he was second only to Achilles in battle prowess and while he was one of the youngest kings he also had the most battle experience. He was one of the Greek warriors favored by the gods, especially Athena.

Diomedes had a special cuirass or corslet made by Hephaestus. He was also said to have a special shield with the mark of a boar, a special sword passed down from his father with the mark of the lion and/or boar, and a golden suit of armor passed down from his father made by a mortal smith but blessed by Athena.
