Nine-Ringed Staff

In the Chinese epic, Journey to the West, the nine-ringed staff is a treasure given to Emperor Taizong by the Bodhisattva Guanyin. The emperor in turn gave it to the priest Sanzang for his journey.

Quote from Chapter 12:

"A nine-ringed iron staff inlaid with copper,
A nine-sectioned Immortal's cane to preserve eternal youth.
Held in your hand it's as light as a bone,
As you go down the mountain it brings white clouds."
