Common Construction: Leather (modern bracers are made of plastic)

Bracer is a general term for a leather strap used to cover the inside of the forearm. It is common for archers to be struck by the bowstring or fletching of the arrow when firing, and the bracer absorbs the blow and protects the skin.

Bracers have mistakenly been attributed to armor that covers the entire forearm, like the lower cannon of a vambrace. This is largely due to Dungeons & Dragons and similar games, and has worked its way into the common perception of what a bracer is.

Why am I not surprised ? Another right wing theocrat whose concept of ethics puts values like loyalty, integrity and honesty second to getting his ego fed and his pocket book filled. One of the reasons folks like Dobson work so well with financial covasrnetives is that beneath the surface they value the same things: money, fame, ego and power.
