Shoe of Vidar

In Norse mythology, Vidar is the son of Odin and the giantess Grid and is destined to slay the wolf Fenrir after it kills his father at Ragnarok. It is said that he will pin the lower jaw of Fenrir with his shoe, and "The cold jaws of the beast he will sunder in battle."

Some sources describe the shoe as made of iron, while the Gylfaginning explains that Vidar's shoe is made from leather waste pieces that people have cut from their own shoes, collected over time.

I've often thought the Nocturne books are some of the best panorarmal writing out there on the market. Tight writing, intriguing characters and wonderful story lines. I'll have to pick up Guardian's Keep. I've started to develop a hunger for books with Norse mythology as a key ingredient. We recently ran an article on runes at the Midnight Moon Cafe, and now I'm hooked. LOL.All the best,Cass
