Silver Bow

In Greek mythology, the twins Apollo and Artemis both possessed a silver bow which could fire invisible arrows. Apollo used the bow to kill Python and liberate the people of Delphi, after which he established an oracle on Mount Parnassus. He also rained down pestilent arrows on the Greeks for nine days during the Trojan War. He is sometimes referred to as "the god of the silver bow".

As the goddess of the hunt, Artemis was never without her bow. In one story, Apollo and Artemis together killed the sons and daughters of Niobe for her impundent words towards their mother Leto. Apollo killed her seven sons, and Artemis killed her seven daughters.
