Sword of Healfdene

In the English epic Beowulf, Healfdene was the father of Hrothgar and previous king of the Danes. After Beowulf dealt a fatal blow to the monster Grendel, King Hrothgar rewarded him with "splendid" armor, a helmet, and his father's sword.
