In the Dietrich Cycle, Hildegrim was a magical helmet that granted exceptional strength to the wearer. It came into the possession of Dietrich the Prince of Bern after he killed the giants Grim and Hilde for their treasure. The helmet was destroyed in a duel against Witege by his sword, Mimung.

In the Norse version of the story, the Thidrekssaga, it is called Hildigrim and its owner's name was Thidrek. He eventually gave the helmet to Hildibrand (Hildebrand).
