Kukri (also known as Khukri or Khukuri)
Location: Nepal

The kukri is a curved knife that is sharpened on the concave edge weighing one or two pounds. Although a poor stabbing weapon, it is an amazing cutting tool and capable of incredible penetration when used in a cutting or slashing motion.

The Kukri is most often used as a multi-purpose tool rather than a weapon. It is used for everyday activities such as chopping firewood, skinning game, clearing brush etc. However its unique design and the ferocity with which it is used by the Gurkhas of Nepal in times of war has promoted an air of mystery about the blade which is not easily dispelled.
